Overview

Argento Flow Master Reference cables use separate polarity runs, proprietary VDM damping, and triple cryogenic treatment and polishing. The speaker cables and analog interconnects employ 6N silver conductors, with three times the conductor strands of the original Flow design. The range covers power, speaker, analog RCA/XLR, digital RCA/AES/EBU, phono, and ground cables, plus speaker jumpers. Power cords use 6N copper conductors.

A larger-scale approach to the Flow architecture

Flow Master Reference expands the original Flow design through greater conductor cross-section, separate polarity runs, and more extensive processing. It was Argento's reference series before Extreme Edition. In the current range, it provides a different engineering approach from Flow Ultima, whose connector architecture was developed later.

Conductor mass and mechanical separation

The speaker cables and analog interconnects use long-crystal 6N silver conductors. Argento specifies three times the conductor strands of the original Flow, together with triple cryogenic and polishing processes. These changes increase the material and processing involved in each cable assembly.

Each polarity travels in its own cable assembly with proprietary Vibration Damping Material. Machined spacers maintain separation and support the geometry. The design incorporates mechanical damping into the conductor assemblies and the hardware that locates them.

The analog interconnects and speaker cables use pressure-fit connections to avoid solder in the signal path. Custom-machined connector components and annealed contact surfaces are part of this construction. Conductor preparation, mechanical separation, and the contact assembly are developed as parts of the complete connection.

Cable types and connections

The series includes analog RCA and XLR interconnects, digital RCA S/PDIF and XLR AES/EBU connections, phono cables, speaker cables and jumpers, ground cables, and power cables.

The power cord uses 6N high-purity copper conductors with a cross-section of 11 mm² for live and neutral. Separate polarity runs, VDM damping, and machined spacers form its mechanical construction.

Line-level analog, digital, speaker, and ground cables have a 1 m base length, with 0.5 m increments. Phono cables have a 1.2 m base length, with 0.3 m increments; speaker jumpers are 25 cm. Power cables have a 2 m base length, with pricing in 1 m increments. For power connections, specify the wall plug and whether the component requires an IEC C13 or C19 cable connector.

Phono, jumpers, and ground connections

Phono configurations cover RCA-to-RCA or XLR-to-XLR connections and female DIN-to-RCA or XLR. The DIN connector can be straight or angled at 90 degrees. The tonearm output and phono-stage input determine the required connection. Jumper and ground-cable terminations are selected for the connected equipment.
