Fono Acustica Allegro

The Fono Acustica Allegro is the second-tier cable series in the Fono Acustica range, positioned above the Legato and below the Armonico and Virtuoso. Built on a proprietary silver/copper alloy determined through listening by designer Félix Ávalos, it uses the same hand-crafted approach and factory burn-in that define the brand across all tiers. The Allegro covers interconnects, speaker cables, power cords, digital cables, and USB, all made in Spain.

Conductors and Construction

The Allegro uses a silver/copper alloy in a ratio determined through listening rather than through measurements alone. All conductors are thermo-treated and insulated with large isolating Teflon and air dielectrics, with ultra-effective shielding applied throughout. Flexible tubing surrounds the conductor assembly. The power cable uses substantial gauge stranded silver/copper alloy conductors, chosen for the current capacity demands of power delivery. All other types in the series use the same silver/copper alloy in configurations suited to their specific application.

Interconnect and Digital Cables

The Allegro interconnect cable uses very pure silver and copper conductors in proprietary ratios, thermo-treated and insulated with Teflon dielectrics. Ultra-effective shielding is applied throughout. Terminations use high-quality custom-made connectors. Fono Acustica describes the result as a clear and revealing cable with a wide stereo image and tonal purity. Digital cables are available in RCA (75-ohm), XLR (110-ohm), and BNC (75-ohm) configurations at the same standard length, using the same construction approach as the interconnects with shielding optimized for digital signal integrity.

Speaker Cable

The Allegro speaker cable uses pure silver and OFC copper alloy conductors in thermo-treated, Teflon-insulated construction with ultra-effective shielding and flexible outer tubing. Speaker cable termination uses custom-made 24K gold-plated copper spades. Fono Acustica states the result delivers clear definition and an open, wide stereo image.

Power Cable

The Allegro power cable uses substantial gauge stranded silver/copper alloy conductors, Teflon insulated, with ultra-effective shielding and Supreme Power AC plugs on both ends. It is available in US, Schuko, and 20A connector configurations. Standard length is 1.5m. Fono Acustica states that a good power cable lowers the noise floor, with results audible as reduced AC hum and improved resolution and dynamic contrast against a quieter background.
