Description

Métronome AQWO 2+ is a hand-assembled French hybrid DAC, SACD/CD player and network streamer supplied with a separate power supply. It uses an ES9039MPRO converter with PCM and DSD up to DSD512, offers I²S, AES/EBU and S/PDIF outputs with resampling, and is Roon Ready with Qobuz Connect, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, and Audirvāna support. A tube output is available as an option, and a 7-inch touchscreen handles control. The Métronome AQWO 2+ is the two-box version of the AQWO 2.

Métronome AQWO 2+

The Métronome AQWO 2+ is a hybrid DAC, SACD/CD player and network streamer built in France, supplied as a two-box design with a separate power supply. It carries the same functions as the AQWO 2 and moves the power supply out of the audio chassis, so the transport, converter and streamer work from an external supply. A tube output stage is available as an option.

Separate Power Supply

The power supply sits in its own chassis, matching the drive unit in width and depth but only 85 mm tall, and it is isolated from the audio functions. The AQWO 2+ is available in silver or black.

Converter and Digital Stage

Conversion is handled by an ES9039MPRO, and the unit accepts PCM and DSD up to DSD512 for conversion. USB accepts native DSD512, while the internal streamer delivers native DSD up to DSD256. S/PDIF, AES/EBU, Toslink and USB inputs let the converter serve other sources in the system.

The digital outputs offer resampling and include I²S over HDMI, AES/EBU and S/PDIF, so the AQWO 2+ can also act as a transport for an outboard DAC. I²S is the only output that carries native DSD256.

Optional Tube Output

A tube output stage can be fitted when the unit is ordered or added later. RCA and XLR outputs are provided.

Streaming and Integration

The AQWO 2+ is Roon Ready and certified for Audirvāna, and it carries JPLAY certification. Qobuz Connect, TIDAL Connect and Spotify Connect are supported along with Deezer, vTuner and DLNA/UPnP, and an MQA renderer handles MQA content. Network access is by Gigabit Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi, and a USB port accepts external storage for local libraries.

Display

A 7-inch touchscreen carries playback information and the unit's settings. Firmware updates are installed through the USB port.

Place in the AQWO Range

The AQWO 2 is the single-box version of this unit, with the power supply inside the chassis. The AQWO 2+ keeps the all-in-one approach and adds the external supply. For owners who prefer separate components, the t|AQWO 2 provides the SACD/CD transport and the c|AQWO 2 the DAC, each with its own separate power supply.

Do you accept trade-ins?

Yes. However, we consider trade-ins case by case, based on the equipment, its condition, and current market demand. Contact us and we will let you know whether we can accept your equipment.
