Métronome DST
The Métronome DST is a CD transport designed and manufactured in France, the latest model in the Digital Sharing range. It has no DAC and no analog outputs, and it sends CD data to an external converter over S/PDIF, AES/EBU or I²S, with resampling available on the digital outputs. Métronome designed it to complement the DSC Mini and the DSS 2.
Outputs and Resampling
S/PDIF and AES/EBU carry PCM to 384 kHz and DSD up to DSD128, and the I²S output carries PCM to 384 kHz and DSD up to DSD256. The digital outputs offer resampling.
I²S over HDMI is not standardized across manufacturers and Métronome does not publish the pin assignment, so confirm compatibility with your converter before relying on it. S/PDIF and AES/EBU remain available for any DAC.
Operation
A 3.9-inch touchscreen and an infrared remote control the transport. Firmware updates are installed through the USB port.
Chassis
The chassis is solid steel and aluminum, available in silver or black, and it shares its compact footprint with the other Digital Sharing components.
Place in the Digital Sharing Range
The DST is the range's CD transport. The DSC Mini is the converter and the DSS 2 the network player it complements, and the DSAS is the range's music server.
