Métronome Le Streamer

The Métronome Le Streamer is a streaming transport designed and manufactured in France, housed in the Classica chassis and offered in Silver or Black. It has no DAC and no analog stage, so everything it does happens upstream of your converter. Its design priorities are a deliberately substantial power supply for a network source, a native I²S path to Métronome converters, and a control approach that leaves the front panel almost empty.

Integration

Le Streamer is a Roon Ready endpoint and one of the original "Plays with Audirvāna" partners, and it is JPLAY Certified. Qobuz Connect, TIDAL Connect and Spotify Connect let you stay inside each service's own app, with Qobuz Connect streaming straight from Qobuz to the player rather than through your phone. AirPlay, Deezer, vTuner and a full DLNA/UPnP renderer round out the list, along with an MQA renderer. There is no proprietary Métronome app, so control comes from Roon, the service apps, or any UPnP control point. Network access is by Gigabit Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi, and local libraries play from a NAS or from drives on the USB port.

Outputs and the I²S Path

S/PDIF and AES/EBU cover conventional connections and carry DSD as DoP. The I²S output over HDMI is the one that matters most. It is the only output that delivers native DSD, and it is intended for Métronome converters. Le DAC 3 has two I²S inputs.

I²S over HDMI is not standardized across manufacturers, and Métronome does not publish the pin assignment. If your DAC is from another maker, confirm that its I²S input is compatible before relying on that connection. AES/EBU and S/PDIF remain available for any converter.

Power Supply

Two toroidal transformers with Schaffner filters feed separate, independent regulation lines, so individual sections of the unit run from their own supplies.

Chassis and Operation

The front panel is aluminum and carries a single status LED. The cover and rear are lacquered sheet metal, and the unit ships with its own feet and cones for decoupling. There is no display, so playback information and browsing live in your control app.

Place in the Métronome Line

Le Streamer sits in the Classica range alongside Le Player 4, Le Player 4+ and Le DAC 3. Le DAC 3 and the Le Player models each offer streaming as an option, so Le Streamer is the choice when you want streaming in its own chassis and best performance.
